Program Overview
The Alcohol & Drug Recovery Program is designed as a round-the-clock housing environment of treatment for chronic substance abuse. Upon admission, a counselor will discuss the client’s history of substance abuse and our clinical staff will assess them for the appropriate treatment plan.

All participants in the A&D Recovery Program are required to attend both group and individual counseling sessions. Individual counseling will address the client’s motivation to get and stay clean and sober by helping them understand the problem, change their behavior, repair relationships, build new relationships, and create a lifestyle that supports ongoing recovery. Group counseling provides the opportunity to give and receive support from others in a similar situation, as well as discuss feelings, problems, and past experiences. As sobriety is a life-long process, Buffalo Valley provides transitional housing and connections to community support programs such as AA, NA, and DRA.

Adult residential clients enjoy:
• Meditation and relaxation classes
• Small group therapy
• One-on-one counseling
• Weekly care plan review
• Life skills workshops
• Video and lectures specific to substance abuse
• Motivational interviewing
• Relapse prevention workshops
• Therapeutic work activities
• Recreation (walks, gym, seasonal activities, etc…)
• Family program activities
