The Turning Point Foundation is a non–profit organization, providing a nationally–recognized residential drug & alcohol program and sober-living community for men.
Our Extended Care Program is designed specifically for those residents successfully discharging from a residential treatment center. Its application is in response to studies showing conclusively that the longer an individual is engaged in “treatment” of some kind, the better the outcome.
This Phase System (Phases I, II, and III) is our approach to the continuation of treatment. It is a recovery “building block” approach, where each phase is designed to build upon the previous one. The intensity and the regularity of the activities decrease from phase to phase. This exposes the resident to a drug–free world gradually, as their coping skills, self–esteem, and recovery tools become sufficient to withstand that exposure.
Progression through the various phases is accomplished only when ready, as determined by the individual, his family, and the Care Team. It is a highly individualized process because each person’s recovery is individual and progresses on its own.
