These services are paid for by public funds, grants, local dollars, private pay, insurance and Medicaid.

Prevention: Each county program offers a range of prevention services from school-based after-school programs, mentoring, information and referral, and parenting classes to community education services. The community prevention programs and projects are aimed at reducing the far-reaching negative consequences alcohol and other drug abuse has on the community and the quality of life of an individual and the family.

Intervention: All programs provide Assessment, Course, and Treatment (ACT) for individuals convicted of driving under the influence of alcohol or other drugs and misdemeanor dangerous drug (MDD) intervention services. ACT/MDD programs are licensed by the State of Montana and exclusively funded by the offenders.
Each clinic site offers Minor in Possession (MIP) classes to youth, 18 and younger who have been convicted of illegal possession of alcohol. The MIP program includes youth and family group education, urinalysis and, if needed, further service recommendations.
Programs have licensed addictions counselors available to provide adolescent clinical assessments at the school, youth detention and other community sites. Clinical staff may assist adults and adolescents in accessing state-funded inpatient care by completing an assessment.

All clinic sites offer services to adolescents and their families whose teens are faced with substance abuse or dependency problems. The following services are provided by trained and licensed professionals:

Substance Abuse Assessments, typically a no cost service, evaluates the type of use pattern the teen has with mood-altering chemicals and recommends the type of services needed to counteract that problem.

Intensive Outpatient (Level II), a sliding fee service, provides, at a minimum 10 treatment hours per week; a structured group, family and individual counseling program permitting the teen to remain at home and in school.

Outpatient Program (Level I), a sliding fee service, provides individual, group and/or family counseling on a weekly basis. The frequency and length is based on the adolescent and his/her family’s need.

Adult and Family: All clinic sites also offer adult clinical services, to include; chemical dependency evaluations, case management, intensive outpatient program (IOP), Level I relapse prevention, continuing care, DUI monitoring and other outpatient services. At some program sites, the adult services offer specialty group services for women, criminal offenders and individuals who are suffering from concurrent mental illness and addiction. All clinical services are reviewed and licensed annually by the State of Montana. Public funds are available to offset the cost of services for consumers who are financially eligible (200% of poverty or lower). Services are billed to Medicaid, CHIP and other insurances.

Residential Services: The following residential services are located in Missoula but are available to residents in the WMAS service area. All programs are considered voluntary and residents must agree to, and abide by, the residential rules.

Carole Graham Home is a residential program for chemically dependent women and their children.

Serenity Cove Apartments is a step-down transitional housing for women who have completed the program at the Carole Graham Home. This facility provides moderate structure while transitioning into the community.

Share House is a residential program that serves adult men and women who are suffering from addiction and mental illness. Rehabilitation services are provided in this highly structured facility.

Carol Sem Apartments are for individuals who are in need of housing and have successfully completed the Share House program.

Teen Recovery Center is an eight bed, residential-based co-ed program for adolescents, up to the age of 21, who are assessed as chemically dependent and require intensive residential care, outside of a hospital-based setting for the treatment of chemical dependency.
